Classes
*Pre-Ballet (ages 3-6):
The Pre-Ballet class is for dancers age 3 through 6 years
of age. This class works on basic ballet skills - body placement, flexibility, alignment and strength as well as classroom discipline.
*BALLET:
Ballet is the most important form of dance and is required for all Susan's DanceWorks students.
Through ballet you learn body placement, flexibility, alignment, strength and proper technique.
*TAP / TINY TAP (age 4-6):
Tap is a class that will develop concentration; coordination, rhythm, musicality and speed with
a broad knowledge of standard tap technique.
*ACROBATICS / TINY TUMBLERS (ages 4-6):
Acrobatics class will develop strength and flexibility while mastering acrobatic skills. Each student is individually coached in classes and safety is always the first consideration. This class is all floor mat work, no equipment is utilized.
*JAZZ:
Jazz class will teach your dancer body strength, coordination and flexibility all while
dancing to contemporary/popular music.
*LYRICAL:
Lyrical is a dance form that expresses the mood and
lyrics of the music through strong ballet,
jazz, and modern technique. And focuses on balance
and control of movement.
*MODERN:
Modern is a unique and creative study into the
“freedom of movement” through the
defined technique of different modern styles.
*HIP HOP / HIPPY HOP (ages 4-6):
Hip Hop is a popular dance form the will get you moving
to today’s music while learning popular moves from
video and street dancing.
*JUMP AND TURN:
Jump and Turn is a class for the more intermediate to
advanced dancer that will focus on the techniques of jumps,
turns and flexibility.
*POINTE:
Pointe class is an extension of ballet class for the more
serious dancer. Acceptance into this class is by teacher recommendation only.
